Work keeps coming in. Priorities shift. Teams queue for approvals and information. Work piles up in inboxes and chat threads.

Agile Collaboration with Lean and Kanban helps teams bring order to that chaos. In this 2-days, highly practical workshop, your team learns how to see their workflow end-to-end, spot delays, and organise work visually so everyone knows what really matters right now.

Using Lean principles, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), and Kanban boards, participants will redesign how work flows through their department, one realistic step at a time. The focus is simple: clearer collaboration, faster response to customer needs, and less friction across teams.

Who Should Attend

This workshop suits professionals who work in or with cross-functional teams, especially roles such as:

  • Operations and service delivery
  • Project and programme management
  • Process improvement teams
  • Customer service and support teams
  • Team leaders and managers who need better visibility of work in progress

It is especially useful for organisations where work crosses departments and delays often come from handoffs, misaligned expectations, or lack of transparency.

What Will You Learn

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Strengthen collaboration across teams by applying Agile and Lean principles to everyday work.
  • Visualise workflows using Value Stream Mapping, from customer request to delivery.
  • Spot and reduce bottlenecks and non-value adding steps in current processes.
  • Apply Kanban to manage work in progress and improve transparency.
  • Use Kanban boards to coordinate tasks, limit overload, and keep priorities aligned.
  • Build continuous improvement habits that reduce waste and increase responsiveness over time.

Participants will leave with both the concepts and the hands-on experience to start applying these techniques immediately.

Workshop Approach

This workshop blends short theory segments with hands-on team work. Every concept is directly tied to participants’ real processes, not abstract examples.

Participants:

  • Work in small groups using their actual workflows.
  • Co-create Value Stream Maps of their department or service.
  • Build and refine a Kanban board that can go back to the office.
  • Discuss obstacles openly and agree on practical changes.

The style is energetic and collaborative. The aim is not just to learn terms, but to walk out with tools that fit your environment.

Concepts Covered

Icebreaker – Getting the team talking

Quick, practical activity to connect participants and open up discussion on how work currently flows in their teams.

Short, focused explanation of key concepts like flow, waste reduction, and iterative improvement, brought to life with real-world examples relevant to operations and service environments.

Teams map out their current workflow, from customer request through to delivery. They identify delays, rework, and unclear steps that slow everything down.

Teams review their maps and highlight the most painful points in their process.

Kanban for workflow management

Participants learn how Kanban supports visual work management, limits work in progress, and helps teams focus on what is truly important. Each team creates a Kanban board tailored to their department.

Teams return to their Value Stream Maps and decide where Kanban can smooth the flow. They adjust their board columns and policies to support faster, more predictable delivery.

Each team defines concrete improvement steps they will apply in the next 2–4 weeks, including how they will review progress together.

The workshop closes with a review of key ideas, lessons learned, and realistic next moves.
