Lean Operations is a course that provides insights and practical approaches to applying Lean principles to organizations that deliver services to customers, as contrasted with organizations that focus strongly on the design, development and delivery of new products and services.
During the course, we investigate successful strategies applied in a variety of Lean organizations and define how these work in the improvement of organizations in which the primary focus is the delivery of existing services to customers. How should these organizations interact with their customers? How should they deal with processes? What capabilities need to be developed and how can these be sustained? How can these organizations best organize themselves and how can they create the performance required by the customer?

Course Approach
The Lean Operations training is a 2-day course. It builds on the knowledge acquired in the Lean Foundation training to give participants a deeper understanding of the application of Lean in operational environments.
There is a common perception that Lean is mainly applicable to manufacturing; that administrative/service organizations are unsuitable for Lean because of the nature of the work: low standardization, variations in the process, fluctuation in customer demand. With a focus on Operational Excellence, the Lean Operations training takes an in-depth look at the creation of service organizations that perform excellently for their customers while optimizing the use of resource usage. This training is about developing the critical thinking to solve problems and to improve work processes towards increased value delivery.
