Lean Awareness – Help Your Teams Improve Every Day

Every day, people in your organization see where work gets stuck: piles of requests, repeated mistakes, long approval chains. Many want to fix these issues but are unsure where to begin or how to get others on board. Lean Awareness gives them a simple starting point and shared tools.

In this Lean way of working training, participants learn Lean basics in plain language and use a Lego simulation to test ideas in a safe setting. They leave with real examples, not just theory, and a clear idea of what they can try in their own team.

Who Will Benefit Most

This course is for people who care about how work gets done:

  • Team members who handle customers or internal requests
  • Supervisors and team leads who keep the day running
  • Managers who want fewer recurring problems and clearer flow
  • Support functions like HR, finance, IT, and shared services

You do not need a background in Lean. Curiosity and a wish to make work better are enough. Lean Awareness uses real-life examples and simple language, so everyone can follow and join the discussion.

What You Will Walk Away With

By the end of Lean Awareness, people will:

  • Grasp the core ideas of Lean thinking and acting
  • See what customer value looks like in their own role
  • Spot waste and non-value-adding steps in daily tasks
  • Use SIPOC to frame a process from start to finish
  • Read a value stream map and understand where delays arise
  • Make sense of basic KPIs that show how a process performs
  • Work with day boards, week boards, and an improvement board
  • Use Kaizen, DMAIC, and 5-Why to discuss problems in a calm, structured way

To close the day, each person shares a short Lean action pitch: one thing they want to start, change, or stop in their own team to support Lean transformation.
